Short facts about the County of Jämtland • The County of Jämtland comprises eight local municipalities, distributed over the regions of Jämtland and Härjedalen. • The area has a population of around 128,000. • Jämtland has good rail connections, two airports, one of them an international airport, and a public road network totalling nearly 6,000 km. • The local industry has a solid base in the forest industry, tourism and the food sectors, which have always had a strong foothold in the area.
