Salixbyn Wilderness Conference Centre
The wilderness conference centre Salixbyn is a year round destination for experience-based conferences or kick-off´s and customer related meetings. Within the current business team building exercises as well as health and wellness training has been arranged. There is a specific course built for team-building exercises in Salixbyn.
Salixbyn Wilderness Conference Centre is located in the vicinity of Lillhärdal village, Härjedalen county, Sweden. Surrounded by forest and the sex creek river, this unique facility benefits from an undisturbed nature and wilderness scene as well as a fascinating culture and history from the ancient witch hunts back in the 17th century. Salixbyn was recently made famous as the court in the television series Häxornas Tid (eng. “Time of the Witches” after the novel by author Jan Guillou, now and then seen on Discovery Channel). Since then a witch trial museum has been developed in Lillhärdal and visit places have been prepared where it actually once happened. According to the official tourism study TME, the tourism industry in the region is expansive and increased its revenue from 560 million SEK (approx. 62 million €) in 1996 to 1,2 billion SEK (approx. 133 million €) in 2006.
