Immigration process
We all have our reasons for moving to Jämtland; for some it is the dream of running a bed & breakfast in the mountains, for others it is to get their children into the Swedish school system.
Regardless of the reason, everyone who plans on moving to Jämtland must take care of some important preparatory work well in advance. The more preparation you do, the fewer unpleasant surprises you will have. Midscand provides a free-of-charge service intended to make an international move as smooth as possible by helping private persons and businesses with the many small and large details associated with relocating and/or starting up a business in Jämtland.

If you move to Sweden, and do not already have a personal identity number, you will be issued one by the National Tax Agency (Skatteverket). In order to sign contracts and open bank accounts for your business you will need to obtain a Certificate of Registration (registreringsbevis) and its accompanying business registration number. This will be handled by the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket).
