Commerce and industry

Commercial life in Jämtland is unusually varied. Development has proceeded swiftly, and local commerce and industry have, in general, entered a period of significant change in which new business clusters, full of vitality, are continually being created. Vehicles, IT and electronics - with Solectron at the forefront – customer service organisations in Härjedalen and mechanical engineering workshops at Bispgården, to mention but a few.

In the background you will find the forest industry, tourism and the food processing sector, which through the ages have played a major role in Jämtland. Together with the new technology companies, these sectors make up a dynamic and lively industrial mix.
